The Piano Path
How do you play?
Any keyboard works. A MIDI keyboard is the most exact; the microphone lets you use a real piano, a digital piano without MIDI, or a toy keyboard. Saved on this device.
Timing check (for play-along): press Start, then tap along with the eight clicks.
Good to know
- MIDI works in Chrome and Edge on computers and Android. Safari on iPhone and iPad has no MIDI: use the microphone or the on-screen keys there.
- Bluetooth MIDI keyboards work once paired as MIDI devices (on Windows, through the keyboard maker's app). USB is simplest.
- The microphone hears one note at a time, so chords are played one note after another in microphone mode, and left-hand notes under a tune aren't checked.
- The microphone is in beta. If notes go missing, play a little louder, move the device closer, or run the check again in a quieter room.
- Nothing the microphone hears is recorded or sent anywhere: it is listened to on this device, note by note, and forgotten.
